Corporate Responsibility

MBF has adopted Corporate Responsibility principles linked to initiatives that create value for the community across environmental, social and economic dimensions. These initiatives include a range of community and staff programs, as well as MBF Foundation initiatives of health research, health education and programs for leading healthy lives.

MBF has Corporate Responsibility principles relating to our role in society, the environment and the economy. These principles are:

  • We are committed to ensuring the sustainability of Australia’s health system and our place within the private sector.
  • We are committed to providing solutions to make it easy and affordable for our members to enjoy health and financial wellbeing.
  • We recognise that fair and equitable employment opportunities and a healthy work environment for all our people are critical to our success. Our employees are treated with dignity, courtesy and respect.
  • We care about the impact of our activities and remain committed to maintaining the support and goodwill of the communities on whom we depend.
  • We understand that we impact on the environment and will always work toward minimising that impact.
  • We shall continue to provide sustainable returns to our key economic stakeholders, operating ethically and with integrity.

Community partnerships

MBF has been supporting Australians for over 60 years. As part of our ongoing commitment, we offer corporate sponsorship to many Australian organisations, activities and initiatives. Review a summary of the projects we support that share our philosophy of encouraging others to take positive steps towards improving their health and wellness.

Business initiatives

MBF is committed to corporate responsibility initiatives that make good business sense and give value to the communities in which we live and work. We engage with a range of initiatives to help create value for the community across environmental, social and economic dimensions.

Employee contributions

MBF employees are encouraged to make pre-tax payroll deductions to a range of charities whose tireless work achieves wonderful things around Australia. MBF will introduce a Volunteering Program for employees in 2008, giving direct benefit to those in need within our community.
