We are a mutual, not-for-profit organisation, owned by our members for our members, which means that surpluses are returned to our members as new and improved benefits. As a member, you are also eligible to vote for the director – helping you shape the future of you health fund.

Hospital and Extras Packages
Health cover needs will change as you enter different lifestages. That's why Manchester Unity has created four packages that combine hospital and extras cover for different stages of life.
While hospital cover pays benefits for a range of treatment and accommodation costs while you are in hospital, extras cover pays benefits towards services such as dental, physiotherapy and optical.
Healthmate Starter is deal for a young, active single looking for straight forward hospital and extras cover that will see you through things like your sporting injuries, dental check ups and your physio visits. Some hospital services are excluded so you won't be paying a fortune for your cover.
Healthmate Advanced is the right choice for you If you're an active, young, single or couple looking for quality cover and you aren't planning a family just yet.
Healthmate Ultimate is the right cover for you whether you’re a couple planning a family or a young family looking for cover for the things that really matter.
HealthClub is a combined hospital and extras package designed for singles or couples who are not planning a family, or families who are not intending to have any more children, who want cover for the things that really matter.

Manchester Unity offers two hospital covers to give you the peace of mind of knowing that you and your family are protected from unforeseen medical costs. Our hospital covers can be taken on their own or paired with one of our extras covers for total peace of mind.
Healthy First lets enjoy the benefits of being a private patient in a public hospital. This means you can be treated by the doctor of your choice rather than a doctor assigned to you by the hospital. Healthy First can be paired with an extras cover for a quality health cover package.
Top Hospital is our highest level of private hospital cover provides you with maximum protection, flexibility and above all, peace of mind. It includes a range of unique benefits and offers a choice of excess options. You can also choose to add one of our extras covers. It offers you or your family everything you’d expect if hospital treatment was necessary, with no restricted services.
Extras Products
We offer a range of extras covers so that you can choose a cover that will suit your stage of life and budget.
Smart Extras is our basic extras cover, paying great benefits for services not covered by Medicare like dental, optical, physiotherapy, chiropractic, and natural therapies to name just a few. Smart Extras must be partnered with one of our hospital covers.
Healthcover Extras covers you for the most frequently used extras services which are not covered by Medicare. Healthcover Extras pays generous benefits for services like dental, optical, physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy and much more. Healthcover Extras must be partnered with one of our hospital covers.
Healthcover Plus Extras is our most popular extras cover. It pays benefits towards most extras services and can be taken on its own or paired with one of our hospital covers for total flexibility.
Top Extras is our highest extras cover, offering generous benefits and our complete range of extras services. Benefit limits are generally higher than other extras covers. Top Extras must be partnered with one of our hospital covers.

A free online health management program to help you achieve your goals of good health. Simply register and you’ll have access to a world of health, fitness and nutrition tools including a health assessment, diet planner, goal setter and health tips
Health Dollars Loyalty Rewards
Rewarding our members for their loyalty, Health Dollars Loyalty Rewards can be used to reduce your out of pocket expenses when you make an extras claim or reduce your excess if you need to go to hospital
KeepFit
Get fit and stay fit. We pay benefits on approved health and weight-loss programs that your doctor would recommend to improve your health.
Member Support Program
We have developed two special programs designed to help you recover in the comfort of your own home after hospital treatment or the birth of a baby.
Quit Smoking
If you’re serious about giving up smoking, we’re right behind you with a benefit payable for approved Quit Smoking courses and Nicotine Replacement Therapy courses.
Health Assessments
A full health assessment can help you identify potential health risks and get advice on how to avoid them. We pay benefits for health assessments across Australia.
Lifeguard Baby Program
A confidential health education program designed to help mothers-to-be have the healthiest possible baby. Our experienced midwives and Registered Nurses will answer your questions and help with information concerning pregnancy, diet and baby care.
Lifeguard Health Management Program
Our Lifeguard Health Management Program provides personalised care and customised case management for members suffering from certain chronic illnesses or conditions.
Involuntary Unemployment benefit
This free benefit takes care of your Manchester Unity Health Fund contributions for up to 12 months if you are ever retrenched from work by no fault of your own.
GetFit
A unique benefit designed to help members recover following childbirth and some types of surgery.
Aids & Appliances
Assisting members with the purchase or hire of a range of aids and appliances certified by your doctor as being helpful to the management of your medical condition.
Carer Assistance
Where there is a certified need, we will pay benefits for travel and accommodation with a critically ill patient.
Special Nursing
When you require extra care during your hospital admission, you can receive benefits for a personal nurse.

Manchester Unity Pet Health Insurance
Manchester Unity Pet Health Insurance covers your cats and dogs for accidental illness and injuries, so no matter what happens to your pet, you won’t have to worry about your next vet bill. You’ll receive up to 80% and we don’t discriminate against breeds or exclude hereditary conditions.
Life Insurance
For those seeking wider protection for themselves and their families Manchester Unity offers a range of life insurance products. Manchester Unity Simply Life Insurance provides up to $1 million cover in the event of death or terminal illness which is a big help with family expenses in such difficult times.
Travel Insurance
Your Manchester Unity Health Insurance covers you within Australia. If you are travelling overseas you will need to be prepared for the unexpected, that’s why Manchester Unity offers travel insurance which you can purchase at 15% off the regular rate when you join online.
Funeral Bond
By planning ahead with a Manchester Unity funeral bond, you can provide for your funeral expenses and be assured of the funeral you want, without leaving your family with the financial burden.
