Policy holders who have hospital cover will be covered for 100% of the cost of their treatments. The program offers two options:

Assisted discharge (home recovery)

Working with your doctor and hospital staff, ahm will provide you with a range of services so that you can recover at home. These services can include general and specialist nursing services, the use of assisted care facilities, transport, domestic services and personal care.

To be eligible for this program you must:

• have approval from your doctor and hospital staff,
• have served all waiting periods on an eligible hospital cover,
• be over 18 years old; and,
• your hospital stay must be more that 2 nights or you have given birth at one of our participating hospitals.

Alternative to a hospital admission

You can avoid hospitalisation altogether by having  an experienced Registered Nurse provide treatment of your acute illness at your own home. ahm program co-ordinators, under the supervision of your treating doctor, can arrange for you to have treatment and care services provided at your home or assisted living facility. The services include home nursing, personal care, domestic services, transport, a carer for your children and telephone support for the program's entire duration.

• have approval from your doctor,
• be over 18 years old; and,
• have hospital cover and have served all appropriate waiting periods
