Opposition health spokesman Peter Dutton accused the Government of playing politics with Australians' health. The Federal Government has sought legal advice on how proposed Medicare changes could be used as a double dissolution election trigger. It wants the 30 per cent Medicare rebate to be means tested for singles on incomes over $75,000 and couples earning more than $150,000. The proposal was shot down by the Senate last week, blowing a $1.9 billion hole in the Budget.
