Article excerpt:
VICTORIANS face another hit to the household budget with private health insurance premiums set to rise next year on top of rising interest rates and more expensive electricity and water. Health insurers will lodge their price rise claims with the Gillard Government on Thursday, amid speculation they will seek an increase of about 6 per cent. The actual price rise will be decided by Health Minister Nicola Roxon in February and will take effect on April 1. Last year, health funds scored an average price increase of 5.78 per cent - less than they asked for.
