Article excerpt:
THE National E-Health Transition Authority will be contracted to deliver the $467 million patient e-health record system with private sector help, Health Minister Nicola Roxon has confirmed. "We will be asking NEHTA to ensure the national infrastructure is delivered to a high quality standard and in a timely manner and to set the standards for how the system will work," she told the E-Health Conference in Melbourne yesterday. "But we want the best available expertise so there will be an open approach to the market for key elements of the program." Ms Roxon said the government was not looking to run the whole system.
