Article excerpt:
OPPOSITION health spokesman Peter Dutton has been forced to reiterate his support for Medicare after an interview in which he appeared to support the means testing of government health insurance. In a discussion with 2GB's Alan Jones this morning, Mr Dutton seemed to agree with Jones that means-testing government-provided health insurance would improve competition and efficiency... Mr Dutton later clarified his remarks. "We are absolutely committed to Medicare." He said the Coalition's commitment to choice was reflected in its support for private insurance over the years.
