Private Health Insurance Survey

Context and Methodology

  • The survey is driven by online polling of 1172 respondents sourced by linking from the NEWS.com.au web site. This number is used as the base of analysis throughout the report unless otherwise noted on the relevant charts and tables.
  • The survey was carried out in the period January 24 - February 11, 2008.
  • Half respondents are female (53%) and half, male (47%). Half of them (52.5%) have a weekly household income above $1,000. The demographics of the respondents are shown in the appendix.
  • It is possible that respondents are more interested in this topic than the general population because of the respondent selection method.
