If you go to hospital and your doctor or specialist charges more than the Government Schedule fee, it’s up to you to pay the ‘gap’. But with our Ezyclaim system, your doctor or specialist agrees with Mutual Community on the fee charged for services and also agrees to bill us directly, so in most cases there’s no gap and you don’t even see a bill. And if there is a gap, you’ll be advised of the amount before treatment.
Stay in a Members First hospital and you’ll get a single room. If there’s no single room available, you’ll receive $50 a day from the hospital for every day you’re not in one. This applies to any overnight admission booked at least the day before and excludes nursing home type patients, emergencies or where deemed medically inappropriate. And it’s available on most of our covers – a unique Mutual Community feature.
Our Single Parent cover options mean you can enjoy significant savings on your hospital health cover. While our Family Plus cover options allow you to keep your family covered under one membership for longer and save. Single children can be covered up to their 25th birthday – even if they’re living away from home or working!
Only Mutual Community covers all of the cost of your kids’ dental at Members First dentists right up until they turn 25.* That means you’ll benefit from no out-of-pocket costs on more than 250 dental services when you visit a Members First dentist – including check-ups, teeth cleaning, fillings, x-rays and more!

Baby Care is about taking care of the very youngest member of your family. It offers no excess on hospital admissions for children under the age of three. This gives you one (for single or single parent memberships) or two (for family memberships) excess-free overnight or same day admissions to hospital each calendar year! Available on selected hospital covers.
