Davis gives advice such as shopping around different health companies, using online brokers such as iSelect and moneytime and face to face brokers. Davis notes brokers only deal with a limited number of funds and it may limit choices. Davis says the Fed Govt has set up a website called Privatehealth.gov.au and she details how it can help.
Davis says the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman releases a State of the Health Funds Report each year, comparing the funds. King notes people need to be in private health for a year before they have a baby and Davis notes there are waiting periods for a few things. Davis details different kinds of cover available and gives details on choosing between different types of excess.
