Millions of Australians ponder next steps on health insurance as letters confirm premium hikes
Tuesday 1st April 2008: A recent government-approved hike in health insurance premiums has seen millions of Australians receive a letter from their fund confirming that premiums will now take an even bigger slice out of the monthly family budget.
But a key player behind a new comparison engine for private health insurance products says a few minutes of online research could see families end up with equivalent cover at less than what they are currently paying.
Moneytime Director and co-founder David Miller, says that confusion around health insurance products can act as a major disincentive to exploring alternatives.
“We simplify the various health insurance products, take away the confusion and hopefully give consumers a chance to keep their monthly budgets in check,” says Miller.
